Role Overview The successful applicant will have a broad range of electrical engineering design skills gained from the Oil & Gas industry or other Engineering Industries. You must be able to lead small to medium sized teams of Electrical Engineers and Designers. In this role, you will carry out Electrical Engineering Design and technically supervise others for the execution of projects for Brownfield modification to Electrical Equipment within Onshore Oil & Gas Plants at Concept, FEED, EPC and PMC project levels for domestic and international clients. You will be assigned to lead the Electrical Project Task Force to be part of a wider multidisciplined project team. The role will involve leading the Electrical Engineering elements of the projects, in which you will be responsible for the technical leadership of the electrical team. You will also assist the Chief Electrical Engineer with departmental technical issues, recruitment and input into other projects as required. You will be expected to have a very high level of electrical engineering design competence with experience of electrical design for modifications to electrical equipment of Voltages up to and including 33kV. You will be expected to manage your own work load and that of your team including the commercial aspects of the electrical engineering scope ensuring that all activities and deliverables are managed in accordance with the project schedule. This will include reviewing the project schedule, input into the schedule and preparation and set up of the progress reporting system for electrical scope, updates to and reporting of progress and general time management of all activities and deliverables. You will be Client facing and able to consult with the Client on technical issues to provide solutions to technical issues that arise to ensure successful delivery of the project. Responsibilities Review and approve projects schedules on assigned projects with the Project Engineer to see that all dates, rates of progress and design periods are realistic Manage a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers on assigned projects Management of man hour budgets, contract changes and schedule delivery Responsible for the design and approval of all electrical work on assigned projects Execute assigned work in accordance with the applicable Project Procedures and Standards, including WorleyParsons and/or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control, within the man-hour and cost budgets and the project schedule targets Prepare and approve general notes requisitions for electrical equipment on assigned projects Review and approve all electrical drawings and check design quality and technical accuracy on assigned projects. Set up and maintain electrical databases, where required, on assigned projects. Specify and prepare material requisitions for electrical equipment on assigned projects. Prepare technical bid evaluations for electrical equipment on assigned projects. Review and approve supplier documents for electrical work on assigned projects. Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s) and Sites Acceptance Tests (SAT’s) for electrical equipment (or equipment with significant electrical content) on assigned projects. Review in conjunction with Procurement Department all claims on assigned projects by suppliers for an increase in the engineering scope of work. Notify the Project Engineer of all deficiencies in the flow of data on assigned projects or other basic information required for execution of work. Alert the project Engineer / project Manager to circumstances considered to be subject to contract change. Provide information where necessary to estimate the cost of contract changes on assigned projects. Provide progress report information on assigned projects, at the required frequency and with the required content, to the project Engineer. Follow up electrical construction work on assigned projects on project sites to ensure correct interpretation of designs regarding installation. Advise the Chief Electrical Engineer of any slippages / deviations and their causes and proposed corrective action. Advise the Chief Electrical Engineer of any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups. Keep informed, by all possible means, of relevant technical developments in electrical industries. Suggest ways to improve efficiency, costs and service in the execution of projects. Assist where necessary in the compilation of operating manuals and mechanical catalogues. Keep Chief Electrical Engineer informed as to progress of assigned engineers and their potential for accepting increased responsibility. Advise the Chief Electrical Engineer of possible fields for technical investigations and computer programs. Carry out technical investigations, including development of computer programs and, produce technical reports as and when required. Advise the Chief Electrical Engineer of deficiencies and possible improvements to the established WorleyParsons design methods, standards and data. Accept responsibility as requested for development and maintenance of expertise in specific areas of technology. Assist when required in preparation of proposals. Make recommendations to Chief Electrical Engineer on methods of improving WorleyParsons competitive position from a technical standpoint. Carry out electrical system studies Carry out technical investigations, produce technical reports, engineering standards and procedures Assist in the development and training of personnel when requested Participate in proposal activities as required
