Overview: The Lead – Structural Engineer will be part of a multi-discipline project team and is responsible for Structural with regard to all detail engineering and design aspects for the project execution. Lead Structural Engineer shall: Focal point of communication with Project team, Client and other third parties for all Structural engineering matters. Supervise and direct all Structural engineering and design activities on the assigned projects. Monitor all engineering, design and drafting activities to assure conformance with Client’s specifications, governing codes, and good engineering practice. Assure that every effort is made to meet the project schedule within the budgeted effort hours allotted. Make decisions with regard to manpower, staffing and scheduling of the project control team effort. Responsibilities: The Lead – Structural Engineer shall be responsible for the following main activities but not limited to: Gain a full understanding of the project scope and procedures. Develop and maintain effort hour budgets, manpower requirements and project schedules. Assist in the development of project schedules and manpower requirements. Provide input for project execution plan. Prepare method and procedures to perform the works of Structural. Forecast and monitor engineering manpower to maintain the job schedule. Assign work to Structural personnel ensuring the best utilization of their knowledge and capabilities. Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used on assigned projects meet the Client’s requirements. Plan, monitor and expedite Structural team to assure conformance to design standards, budget, schedule and quality. Monitor the work of Structural team to assure conformance to recognized industry standards, safety standards, design criteria, project specifications and good engineering practice. Ensure that all codes & standards, statutory requirements and client specifications are fully implemented. Monitor weight and management process from detail engineering to procurement, construction, until offshore installation, so that NTEWs will be continuously & consistently maintained. Review and approval of Structural deliverables (specifications, analysis report, material take-off and drawings, etc.) developed by Structural team. Interface with Construction Team, T&I Sub-contractor, drilling contractor, Jacket contractor and Pipeline contractor as needed. Verify and update as necessary the FEED concept of modification of existing platform as needed. Verify and update as necessary installation sequences of new components on existing platform to minimize hook-up and installation works offshore. Provides technical guidelines, assistance and problem-solving to his/her Structural team in project. Provide support to procurement of structural relevant items. It includes but not limited to review of technical specifications, requisition, bid evaluation and package management for structural material as required by the project. Provide interdisciplinary checks for other disciplines in respect of Structural. Maintain high level of professionalism within Structural team and assigned working area. Interface with other disciplines, clients and other third parties to ensure integration of engineering activities. Respond to all related comments from 3rd party such as CA and MWS. Maintain coordination and cooperation between all Structural personnel under his/her supervision by working with other disciplines and higher management to resolve discipline, personality conflicts, etc. Coordinate and/or participate in internal and external design reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, Constructability review, Technical review and e3D Review Workshops, etc.). Report the work progress and bring to notice potential risks with recommended solutions. Provide information where necessary to estimate the cost of contract changes on assigned projects. Alert the Project Engineer / Engineering Manager to circumstances considered to be subject to contract change. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions. Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position will have the following requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Structural engineering. Major in Oil & Gas Industry is preferable. Minimum 15 years of experience as Lead Structural Engineer in engineering and design of various EPC offshore oil & gas projects. Experienced in offshore structural analysis and design. Non-linear finite element analysis experience also a plus. Experienced in at least two modification projects. Familiar with TOTAL/NOC General Specifications (experienced with at least one TOTAL’s project). Strong knowledge of relevant API, ASTM, Euro, ISO and other International Codes. Competent in Microsoft Office software, AutoCAD. Special skills required or expertise in SACS, SAP2000. Having skill in SESAM/ANSYS is a plus. Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (PDMS, Smart 3D). Effective conflict management skills, both technically and interpersonal. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good communicative skills, able to interact with people of all levels
