Specialist Offshore Structures Reports To: Structural Engineering Lead LOCATION: Doha, Qatar MAIN FUNCTIONS The End Engineering Design (FEED) Structures Lead is responsible for the delivery of all aspects of Structures (i.e. Jackets / Piles, Boat Landings, Decks, Bridges, Dropped Objects Protection, etc.) design and material technical and execution definition, selection, and design, including planning for Detailed Design, Procurement, Installation, and Testing / Commissioning. Ensures that technical requirements (e.g. project specifications, data sheets, etc.) developed during FEED fully comply with project requirements. Effectively collaborates and interfaces with Company and Contractor engineers and Operations personnel (as required) to ensure that Structures scope of supply is optimized, fully integrated into the overall project design, and is safe to operate for the project life. Provides oversight of the FEED Contractor’s and, as required, commodity supplier’s production of associated deliverables within project budget and schedule. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Drives the timely review of all FEED Contractor Structures-related deliverables. Reviews FEED Contractor Structures-related deliverables and is responsible for providing and coordinating Company comments for the associated discipline with focus on: Detailed Design of Jackets / Piles during FEED to enable early Fabrication / Installation award. Compliance with design methods and safety factors to be used in design of project. Systems and design for correctness, compliance, and operability. Effective Weight Management Plan and associated reporting to support accelerated design and early delivery of Jacket. Technical bid tabulations for purchase of structural steel and early Jacket fabrication/installation. Material manufacturing tests and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) protocols and procedures Ensures that the Strucutures scope of supply is engineered, designed and integrated to the overall project design consistent with project requirements. Effectively collaborates and interfaces with Lead and Engineering Manager. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Broad and extensive knowledge of: Offshore fixed structures design and engineering principles, theories, and concepts. Applicable codes, standards, and trade practices. Bachelors Degree in an Engineering/Engineering Technology or Technical Degree. 15+ years of closely related professional experience. Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak fluent English. Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational, coordination, planning, and interface skills. Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc. Willing and able to travel as required.
