Providing project engineering support to the Civil and Cable Installation Project Managers to ensure that the export cables ducts and associated cable installations are installed without damage and according to project requirements. Manage the contractors in conduct of the works in multiple locations. Review and approve where necessary method statements, risk assessments and design calculations. Support the negotiations to secure crossing agreements and ensure the contractors compliance with them. Technical point of contact for interfaces with the other project contracts related to cables and civil contracts. Analyse the implications of changes to the project in terms of technical risks, cost and time. Review of Notices of Completion and Statements. Coordinate the review of Contractors documentation with the project team including site-based construction management team. Support Construction Manager/Project Manager on project delivery, as required. Attend all Design Reviews/HAZOPS as required. Participate in periodic meetings with the Contractor. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports. Prepare Minutes from the Progress Meeting. Ensure deliverables are in accordance with contract. Review the proposals of the Contractor for changes to work scope or technical variations. Analyse the cost and time implications of proposals by the Contractor. Report and manage the technical risks associated with cable and accessories transport and installation. Record times and durations for all works conducted including working and downtime. Report immediately on any claim/ variation/ incident together with a proposal for resolution. Ensure HSE policies are adhered to in all matters, i.e. installation RAMS. Oversee and support of contractor handover process. Highlight possible problems on the execution of the contract including delays/technical problems/claims/ variations related to the cables and accessories installation and make recommendations for their resolution Review the specifications, inspection and test plans, method statements, test reports and as-builts. Analyse the implications of changes to the project in terms of technical risks, cost and time. Review of contractor documents, drawings and data to ensure the project requirements are met. Review of key personnel new to the project proposed by contractor. Respond to technical queries from the Contractor and other project team members related to cable and accessories installation. Report and manage the technical risks associated with cable and accessories transport, installation and testing. Requirements Relevant experience including knowledge and competence within the transmission area, specifically with Civil and installation of ducts and transmission voltage cables Experience in Contractor management. Awareness of regulatory issues impacting the business (NEC3) Good understanding of CDM, H&S at Work Act and relevant environmental legislation Awareness of contract conditions SMSTS, 5 days training would be an advantage HS Training (Work Heights/ First Aid) Computer literate
