Currently, we have an opportunity available for a Refinery Production Operator. The individual in this role will perform and support manufacturing within the Refining department. Load, unload, and move materials for distribution or further processing to refine metals. Set up, monitor, and prepare materials for processing, refinement, finished product production, and shipment. The right candidate must have the ability and desire to learn as well as demonstrate a high sense of urgency and energy. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to : Procedural Responsibilities : Loading material into beakers. Set up and monitoring of various refinery manufacturing and recovery processes. Scrubber operation and basic maintenance. Operation of chemical distribution equipment, SO2 evaporators, pumps, level controls, etc. Completion of refinery paperwork, including verification and documentation of weights. Performing other remedial duties in the facility as directed by Dept. Supervisor/Team Leader. Workplace Maintenance : Assist in basic periodic maintenance of equipment such as; processing equipment cleanouts, chemical probe calibrations, pump upkeep, filter replacements, etc. General housekeeping daily. Equipment Operation : Safe Operation of Processing Cells and Vessels, Forklifts, Pumps, Mixers, Hoists, Sandblaster, Rectifiers, Ovens and assorted material handling equipment and power tools according to Standard Operating Procedures. Responsible for physical preparation of material for reclaim Debonding metals from backing plates Mechanical cleaning of material by grit blasting and sanding Use machinery such rolling mill and hydraulic shears to resize material Working Conditions In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities : While performing the duties of this job, the employee will encounter frequent standing, bending, twisting, reaching, stretching, pulling and pushing in an industrial manufacturing environment. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Qualifications - Education & Experience High School Diploma/ GED required or equivalent experience Able to understand chemical symbols and experience with acids such as Hydrochloric and Nitric acid a plus. Basic computer skills and knowledge of SPC, QS9000 and ISO14001 a plus. Minimum 1 year experience working in a production/manufacturing and/or plant environment is required Working extended hours and/or weekends and holidays may be required Qualifications - Skills & Competencies Have a methodical and a detail-oriented approach to work by organizing and prioritizing to meet production demands. Able to interpret and apply a variety of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to work of the company. Communicate information effectively (both orally and written). Perform repetitive tasks requiring exacting and continuous mental and visual concentration in a consistent manner.
