(539) Instrument Technician
Basic Function and Scope: Carries out installation, calibration, minor troubleshooting and general maintenance of instrumentation and Control System associated with Process or Offsite operation, deployed at the QATAR GAS facilities. 2. Tasks and Duties a.) Maintains all Instrument and Control Systems at a high degree of operational availability. b.) Under the direction of the Instrument Foreman or Senior Instrument Technicians, receives Work Orders, Preventive Maintenance Routines, Safety Permits and appropriate engineering drawings and carries-out assignments. c) Assists Senior Instrument Technicians in pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities. d.) Assists Senior Instrument Technicians in minor Instrumentation modifications. e.) Actively assists Senior Instrument Technicians in shutdown work. 3. Work Contacts Liaisons daily with maintenance, Instrument Senior Technicians and Foreman. Desired Candidate Profile Minimum Requirements a.) Completed Secondary High School Education and have acquired normal technical training in Instrumentation or Electrical Trade from a recognize apprenticeship or equivalent. b.) Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting techniques of a variety of Instrumentation and Control Systems, in the Oil, Gas or Petrochemical Industries. c.) Familiar with the fundamentals of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Safety Shutdown Systems. d.) Fluent in English language (primarily in “Spoken English” to reasonable degree in “Written English”). e.) Ability to read P & ID’s and be familiar with Ladder Logic Schematics.
