Job Description Job Purpose: Supervise fire fighting activities and emergency teams in case of fire/emergencies; plan, co-ordinate and supervise the maintenance, inspection and testing of all safety, fire fighting, life saving and other emergency equipment to ensure their proper functioning; and organize, conduct and participate in fire, search/rescue and lifesaving training drills/exercises and job watch activities Duties & Responsibilities: Establish clear work programmes and objectives for his subordinates, and lead and supervise them in the achievement of these. Act as the man in charge of the Emergency Teams at the scene of fires, explosions, or other emergencies, providing an immediate appraisal of the situations; will inform control room and initiate immediate action to control and extinguish fires as necessary. Participate in the investigation of incident and completion of associate reports. Organize, prepare scenario and participate in regular and impromptu fire, rescue, lifesaving drills and training programmes for the Emergency Teams and other site Company and contractors personnel. Supervise and participate in the periodic maintenance, testing and repair of all fixed, mobile and portable fire fighting, safety and lifesaving equipment; follow up on all such works to ensure that procedures and programs are adhered to and records of all equipment inspection, testing and maintenance are maintained. Initiate requisitions for the replenishment of comsumables, equipment and spare parts; control the stock and supplies of all fire fighting agent, foam, dry chemical powder and equipment. Control, co-ordinate and participate in job watch activities, may sign work permits as the safety authority, perform gas tests and ensure that Company and contractors personnel are fully aware of the fire safety requirements. Assign fire watch/standby with the appropriate fire fighting/rescue equipment during hot/entry works, helicopter landing/take off, loading/unloading of dangerous cargoes of the supply boats and crane operations. Conduct other or similar related duties as directed by the Senior Safety Supervisor.
