ABOUT CLIENT This role requires diverse experience in the HSE engineering and is for a leading oil & gas company in the Middle East, where the candidate will be accountable as the technical authority on HSE marine and safe management of underwater operations. JOB PURPOSE & SCOPE: 1. Develops, maintains and updates the company’s guidelines and procedures related to HSE marine and the safe management of underwater operations, in addition to safety requirements for marine vessels & barges in line with the Company’s, local and international regulations. 2. Audits and monitors the implementations of the company’s marine regulations and the safe management of underwater operations, on all offshore sites. Prepares audit/assessment reports, recommendations and follow-up corrective actions 3. Participates in the Company’s pre-qualification HSEMS audits for all marine contractors and marine spreads to ensure full compliance with company standards. 4. Conducts ad-hoc safety audits on marine vessels/ barges contracted by company to ensure compliance with the company’s safety requirements post mobilization to any offshore site; prepare audit reports, recommendations and follow-up corrective actions. 5. Participates in and review all marine related risks assessments for the Company’s marine/activities/projects and guide the team to ensure all risks are identified systematically. 6. Ensures all related dispensations for Company routine/non routine projects are properly assessed and monitor implementation of the recommended measures. Desired Candidate Profile QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1. Master Mariner/Chief engineer certificate of competency or equivalent. 2. HSE qualification NEBOSH or equivalent 3. Qualified internal auditor of OHSAS, EMS and marine international safety management system 4. 7 years HSE marine experience in offshore oil fields, GCC experience is an advantage.
