Job Description Roles & Responsibilities JOB PURPOSE: To coordinate with the Shift Charge Engineer in the operation of the Power Generation and Water production in an efficient, safe and effective manner to meet overall energy needs of the Smelter Complex?s and third party customers as applicable. To assist the Shift Charge Engineer and Shift Manager in safe isolation and normalization of HV and LV systems. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Operates and services the compressed air plant to enable the continuous generation of compressed air to satisfy power plant and Smelter needs * Operates and services the Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) to enable the uninterrupted supply of steam to satisfy operational requirements. * Manages the Permit to Work and equipment isolation for the power plant to ensure maintenance and service work can be carried out safely * Identifies problem areas of plant and equipment, diagnose faults and take corrective actions to minimise production losses arising from plant outages * Carries out high voltage and low voltage switching as instructed including carrying out related risk assessments. Furthermore, responsible for equipment isolation and issuing of relevant safety documents for maintenance staff to be able to work safely * Supports Shift Manager/ Shift Charge Engineer in initiating power shutdowns as required and also ensures power restoration activities with minimum disruption in the event of an emergency. Interacts with Potline supervisors for power reductions and rectifier isolation activities, low voltage equipment and mechanical plant.

Directly oversee the operational conditions and parameters of the LNG train, storage, loading, and utilities facilities, maintaining optimal performance. Continuously monitor all operating conditions within the LNG plant's process area facilities, making necessary operational adjustments to optimize plant performance. Collaborate with field operators to coordinate control and adjustments of operating parameters, aiming to enhance overall plant efficiency. Manage the issuance and monitoring of work permits, ensuring no conflicting activities occur simultaneously and verifying the proper closure of permits post-job completion. Act as the first responder to alarms, identifying and reacting promptly to operational deviations or upsets, playing a key role in maintaining safe and efficient plant conditions. Identify and address deviations in process parameters at the earliest stage to mitigate operational risks and implement timely corrective actions.
