Louis Berger currently seek a HSSE Manager for one of our key projects in Qatar. The successful candidate will need to ensure the proper planning, improvement and implementation of adequate safety management systems in the projects. The candidate will maintain the HSE System and to attain the policy and strategic objectives, and continual sustain of culture that supports and continually improves the health, safety environment. The candidate will need to be familiar with HSE requirements of local legislation, international best practice and standards. Responsibilities- • Establishing, documenting, implementing and maintaining the HSE Project Plan. • Reporting to the Project Director, Senior Manager on the performance of the Project HSE management system and any need for improvement. • Promoting awareness of legal and other requirements throughout the project organization. • Review and comment on the Consultant and Contractor HSE Plan. • Regular reviewing of the reporting prepared by the Consultant/Contractor that summarizes HSE activities performed on each project. • Conducting the periodic Project Management Review and distribute the summary report to the Project Management Team. • Carrying out First and Second Party Quality Audits; to the Consultant and Contractor’s HSE and internally on the project HSE. Desired Candidate Profile Minimum Requirements- Minimum of 20 years of overall work experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental role within the construction and engineering industries. Preferred Qualifications- Be familiar with the HSE requirements of local legislation, international best practice and standards. Must have ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 background. Previous work experience in metro/rail project will be preferred. Must have heavy civil construction project background.
