(1055) Mechanical Training Instructor

Reports to : HR Manager / Mechanical Supervisor Mechanical Training Instructor ensures the effective delivery, assessment and recording of Mechanical trainees who will carry out Mechanical Maintenance tasks in the Oil and Gas Industries, to meet the Mechanical training needs. To prepare course materials, lesson plans, teaching aids and to maintain labs and equipment under his control. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Mechanical Trainor perform duties including but not limited to: 1. Delivery of Mechanical and Process Equipment Maintenance Training in accordance with published training schedule. 2. Conduct of assessments to determine the competence of trainee’s and delegates Preparation of trainee progress reports as required. 3. Maintains trainee’s attendance records, progress reports and evidence collection, by processing daily attendance, weekly counselling and monthly progress reports to ensure quality training. 4. Conducts workplace training and assessment activities, by visiting plants as assigned and retrieving evidences of trainee performance and guiding coaches, to comply with training programs and certification requirements. 5. Develops Mechanical course materials by producing materials (preparing course books, work books, teaching aids, practical facilities etc) to ensure the quality of training being delivered 6. Identifies material/equipment required for Mechanical courses, by analyzing course contents and preparing procurement orders to ensure effective course delivery. 7. Acts as a first line trainee counsellor by regular counselling for trainees attitude, attendance and performance 8. Ensure all assessments are valid and reliable. 9. Liaison with Training Supervisor to ensure all training activities are coordinated and conducted in accordance with agreed schedules. 10. Maintain Mechanical training facilities and keep them in a safe working condition, by conducting daily inspections and cause required maintenance to be performed or reported 11. Conduct live plant training practical training to trainees and industry professionals Contribute to Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) 12. Other duties as directed by Senior Instructor / Supervisor. In addition to the above principal accountabilities, the Teacher/Instructor may be required to: WORK ENVIRONMENT: Shutdown, workshop and yard environment or as per job requirement. Desired Candidate Profile KEY SKILLS: The position holder need to have the following skills and abilities: 1. Proficient in the Maintenance of Pumps, Compressors and other Process Plant Equipment 2. Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (if available) 3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Application 4. Able to handle challenging tasks/assignments under pressure 5. Have a passion for learning and training/teaching 6. Dedicated, confident, able to multi-task, independent, creative 7. Good communication, interpersonal, presentation & negotiation skills 8. Able to work long/ flexible hours when required QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering 2. At least 3 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas/ Petrochemical industry.
