(1427) Senior Project Manager
The project manager must have a minimum of 15 years experience and at least five years managing projects and be familiar with all types of contracts such as LSPB, LSTK, CLSTK and Unit Rate contracts. Areas of experience and expertise required include: • Oil and Gas projects ranging from green field process facilities to brown field process upgrades, • Cross Country pipelines, • Be fully knowledgeable of all aspects of project phases, such as conceptual studies, FEED, detailed design and construction management, • Saudi Aramco and/or other International oil and gas company standards, • EPC or LSTK contracting environment. Has overall responsibility for executing the assigned project from inception, through start-up to completion safely, in accordance with: • The requirements of the contract, • Corporate policies on Health, Safety and the Environment, respect in the Work Place, and others as published from time to time, • IMS and Quality Management System, and • SLFE Procedures and Guidelines. Responsibilities: 1. A Senior Project Manager will normally report to a Project Director and be responsible for a group of projects and take on all the responsibilities identified below for a Project Manager but may also have Project Managers reporting to him. A Senior Project Manager may be asked to take on the Management of a Business Line of a group of projects which collectively make a niche in our business. Alternatively a Senior Project Manager may be asked to undertake a larger single project. Characteristics that differentiate a Senior Project Manager from a Project Manager are depth of experience with a track record of successful project execution, a detailed knowledge of Project Management fundamentals, high level of communication skills, a strong work ethic and a “Can Do” approach. 2. A Project Manager is responsible for either a single or a multiple of projects depending on size and complexity and represents SLFE to the Client, and concurrently represents the Client within SLFE. He normally reports to a Senior Project Manager who will normally have a group of Project Managers reporting to him which may be grouped together by common client or other characteristics into a business line. He in turn reports to a Project Director. 3. The Project Manager has the responsibility to serve both SLFE and the Client and is accountable to Senior PM/Project Director and ultimately SLFE Vice President Operations for all aspects of project execution. It is the Project Manager’s responsibility to deliver the As-Sold profit to SLFE, to provide overall leadership and direction, to maintain a high level of professional conduct within the project team and to establish a positive relationship with the Client that will ensure favourable consideration for follow-up work. 4. By delivering the “as-sold” profit he must be fully conversant with project control methodologies for planning, scheduling and cost. He must be capable of reading and understanding cost reports and project financial statements. When executing a lump sum project, particularly as a subcontractor, he must maintain focus on achieving the financial targets and mitigating risk through strict adherence to the management of change work processes. 5. The Project Manager must champion the project to so that it gets its fair share of SLFE’s resources, is completed on schedule and within budget to the contract requirement. He should keep the Client advised of unavoidable deviations or changes and create a sense of trust between the two organizations that will lead to new work. The Project Manager must excel in general management abilities, be aggressive, enthusiastic, and capable of independent judgment, be able to exercise authority and supervise specialists in a wide variety of disciplines. The Project Manager must also be competent in contracting procedures, company policies, and the responsibilities of other company groups, and have first-hand knowledge of Client objectives and desires.
