Duties and responsibilities: A. Determines specific work to be done against a work order by an on-site examination of the job and discussions with the operator. B. Makes measurements required to define the job in terms of finite units and ascertains physical conditions associated with what is to be worked on and its environment. C. Prepares sketches indicating work to be performed, area to be worked in, things to be made, etc. Also revises construction prints to reflect as built condition. D. Makes evaluations required to determine areas, volumes, lengths, clearances, manhours, material costs and quantities, equipment costs and quantities, etc. 70050363 - Engineering Aide M&S Page 3 / 4 E. Prepare scopes of work for routine maintenance jobs to be let to contractors and fair price estimates for such jobs. F. Makes on site explanations to contractors on what is required for specific jobs and either reconciles or obtains answer from his supervisor on such things as materials and equipment to be used. G. Prepares list of materials for jobs and sources material for those who are to perform the work. Makes substitutions for materials that are not available. H. Inspects and reports on work completed by Company and contractor forces. Advises supervisor that work was or was not completed in a satisfactory manner. Frequently assigned to initiate corrective action for unsatisfactory work. I. Maintains records on units of work per manhour or equipment-hour; coverage per gallon or cubic yard; mix ratios for paints, concrete, asphalt mix, etc. for various applications; rental rates for equipment; material prices; typical contract costs for tariffs, etc. J. Prepares job breakdown schedules indicating sequencing of crafts, when materials and equipment are required and the timing for each job step. K. Coordinates forecasts for regular and routine maintenance requirements and reports, manpower, materials and equipment required to meet such obligations. L. Prepare job status reports, cost reports and general reports on methods being used, excessive or inferior maintenance, etc. Industry Type : Oil & Gas / Petroleum Functional Area : Engineering Desired Candidate Profile Minimum Requirements A. Completion of ITC: English, ER; math, M5; science, S5. B. Experience required: four (4) years. A minimum of 4 years as a craftsman in a maintenance unit. A minimum of 2 years as a supervisor or lead craftsman in his craft. C. Ability to read and write English at 8th year level as defined by ITC. D. Ability to interpret and draw sketches and blueprints at the 6th level as defined by ITS. Minimum required for the approved application in the engineering division - dh. District: A. Five (5) years’ experience in the engineering division working with engineers and inspectors. B. Two (2) years of engineering clerical work including accountability reports, inspection schedules and Engineering standards.
