The position is responsible to provide technical expertise on all engineering subject matter pertaining to Process Engineering and design including layout, component selection/application, materials, and stress analysis With The Objective to ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultants Process Engineering and design activities Within the Limits of industry and company codes, international standards, practices and procedures. Principal Accountabilities: A. Prepares scope of work for external consultants and EPC contractors for the execution of jobs. B. Reviews the design works and studies performed by the Engineering Consultants and ensure that they are in accordance with the technical requirements and meet the standards. C. Reviews and approves drawings, specifications and technical documents for all Civil Design related works. D. Participates in the technical evaluation of tenders and issuance of recommendations. E. Provides technical guidance to develop new specifications and update existing specifications. F. Monitors the performance of engineering contractors/consultants & provide necessary design inputs and follows up during the execution of the basic and detailed engineering. G. Ensures that the state-of-art technology is applied throughout the engineering phase for cost effective solutions and application of value added engineering throughout the assigned works. H. Participates in the pre-qualification of engineering consultants/vendors and review the bidders list. I. Provides input/update Engineering Procedures, Company standards, Technical Specifications, Design Philosophies and Engineering Guidelines. J. Participates in site surveys of Company facilities and to establish and identify the actual requirements. K. Provides technical assistance, coordination and liaise with other discipline engineers within the Company and other business units to acquire technical and general requirements L. Review Design Basis, Philosophies and Specifications related to Process Engineering. M. Performs plant modification and refurbishment studies, and process simulation using different computer softwares. N. Develops detailed heat and material balance, and designs for new internally engineered projects and reviews the major modifications in the production facilities. O. Develops process flow diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&Ids), utility Flow Diagrams (UFD), Cause and effect tables and the required design specifications and performs equipment sizing calculations and calculate line sizes and make flow summaries. P. Provides process data for instrument sizing and prepares technical proposals and engineering estimates and scope of work for the studies/projects to be handled by outside Consultant or contractors.
