Job Description Safety Consultant/Environmental Advisor Seeking a senior Environmental specialist with deep experience of UK offshore regulations, and preferably with experience of working with / within major oil and gas companies. The role will be to temporarily cover various Environmental management duties for a period of up to 9 months. Key responsibilities: HSSE Ensure that Facility/Project Procedures, Work Instructions, and SAP routines are updated (by owners) to comply with the law, HSSE&SP CF and EMS Identify when new permits or variations are required (liaise with RGS team) Provide technical interface to regulators and other stakeholders to support the Facility/Wells/Project Support incident management process to ensure investigations are adequately executed and followed up Ensure that the relevant and accurate environmental data and information are available to installation (from RGS team) and ensure corrections made where required (back to RGS team) Undertake assurance activities required for system and compliance management, inc. coaching of staff and supervisors to execute their LOD1 audits (& pre-start up audits) Assist Facility/Wells/Project managers to manage regulatory inspections and LOD2&3 audits When required, lead pan UK environmental initiative delivery. Leadership Regular coaching/training visits to Facilities (or Project sites in execution) – at least 2/year Drive the selective few improvement opportunities in the HSE plan Ensure effective working/support to the installation/project Safety and Tech Safety advisors and the wider environmental team. Role model the leadership attributes (Authenticity, Growth, Collaboration, Performance) Provide a leadership role for the installation E-Reps and help maintain activities and coordinate efforts Technical Drive Goal Zero focus on spills, and full compliance with legal requirements, HSSE Control Framework and specific environmental procedures and requirements Support the identification of risks and action taken (ORIP/Facility Risk Review, PIR) that ensures compliance and balances risk and cost Contribute to the Oil Pollution Emergency Plan and emergency response exercises • Provide guidance on environmental risk management and environmental assessment support, including improvement programs/advice on best practice for existing operations. Including dissemination of LFI and best practices. Planning Contribute to the creation & maintenance of the HSSE plan Input into the Maintenance Reference Plan Understand the environmental forecasts for the installation and challenge assumptions and transparency where necessary to ensure justifiable forecasts (Business Planning) Projects/Modifications Support projects and modifications in line with principles of DCAF Provide input to design activities during various stages of a project Provide start-up support requirements and review of Pre-Commissioning procedures and implementation for new equipment Comply with the Management of Change Process (e – MOC) Maintenance Provide input on environmental aspects of maintenance activities Ensure that environmental risks are effectively coded into the relevant maintenance tools and provide ongoing support and challenge with regard to scheduling of activities Contractor Management • Manage 3rd party environmental support to deliver specific environmental requirements (BAT, BEP, etc.)
