Lead Instrument Engineer Duration: 12 months+ The Lead Instrumentation and Control Engineer is primarily engaged in the project execution of I&C engineering requirements on a project, tender or proposal, as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work. He reports functionally to the Head of Discipline and operationally to one or more Project / Engineering Managers. Key requirements for an Instrumentation and Control Lead Engineer on a project: Ensure work is carried out competently and effectively within time and budget constraints and that project objectives are satisfied. Overall supervision of I&C engineers, designers and technical personnel in the execution of the project and take ownership of the work executed by the team. Ensure integrity of workscope and that all work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Maintain and facilitate an awareness of HS&E across the discipline within assigned project. Promote the understanding and application of risk management techniques within the discipline, e.g. IEC61508/11. Provide support in the Instrumentation area for procurement activities. Ensure discipline personnel consistently work within the Quality Management System. Providing technical support to site engineers on technical query issues. Be able to produce proposals for projects which involves man hour- and schedule estimates. Learning of client proprietary software tools; Engineering Database (EDB) and Project Information tool (JPI) will be required. Pro-actively identify issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Management. Communicate, facilitate and develop a productive and cohesive team. Recognize and address potential and actual cross-discipline issues and conflicts so that overall engineering input to a project is coherent. Profile: A recognized Instrumentation and/or Automation and Control qualification. 15+ years of instrumentation and control engineering experience. 5+ years experience in the Oil & Gas industry. People management Smart Plant Instrumentation Multi-office project experience. Strong communication skills / team player.
