Job Description The work of the successful candidate involves providing the following services: Accountable for Environmental leadership, functional expertise and coaching to Project, Operations, Wells and Subsurface teams Delivery of clear environmental plans and direction Analysis of performance recommendations for future intervention and performance improvement Conduct internal environmental system audits as lead auditor To lead, supervise, coach, counsel and develop our clients Algerian Environmental specialists to achieve sustainable environmental management in Algeria. Manage annual training and competency development Deliver training and awareness programmes To administer the Central Environment team budget, long term environmental strategic our clients plans, environmental management systems and review environmental risk management. Accountable for review and interpretation of ISO 14001 and Shareholder environmental performance standards Superintend the management and implementation of environmental legislation Approve environmental system plans, reporting and procedures Contract Accountable Manager for major Environmental contracts Accountable for technical evaluation of bids Approving and managing contract budgets and resources Control of environmental work programmes by third-party contractors Support ISG, IA and Drilling in delivering safe and compliant operations Coordinate Algeria HSE and Environment Councils Influence and collaborate on common environmental issues Advocate and recommend best environmental practice in Algeria Build relationships with Algerian Environmental Authorities and Stakeholders Personal Specification Engineer degree, Environmental University engineering or science degree required, with minimum of five years experience in a relevant field. Ability to organize effectively and set clear work objectives for the Central Environmental Team Proactive & motivated person who will identify and promote environmental improvements Work experience in an Environmental role, preferably one that included Management Work experience in an organization with ISO 14001 Good understanding of oil and gas exploration and production and its environmental impacts Comprehensive working knowledge of IT tools The post requires a person that can work in a team on a rotational basis Ability to communicate effectively Manage their daily activities with no supervision Lead Environmental Auditor skills Fit to work in the southern environment of Algeria Fit to travel regularly by plane
