Well Engineering Quality Engineer Ghana Contract Purpose The purpose of the Quality Engineer (QE) is to support the TGL-WE department in delivering consistent performance by focussing on the quality of the materials, equipment and services provided. This mandate will give the position a large span of involvement during various phases of the Well Delivery Process (WDP): from co-developing specifications to the leading of failure investigations and tracking of actions to closure. The ultimate goal will be to reduce unplanned events and thus driving down NPT as well as assisting the WE dept. to deliver fit-for-purpose wells for the entire life-cycle of the assets. The Quality Engineer will support the Ghana Well Engineering WDP by ensuring, with reference to the client IMS, an appropriate quality culture, process and regime is established, used and, as necessary, improved, with regard to the procurement of third party equipment, third party services and internal process. Working within the Ghana Well Engineering Team, the Quality Engineer shall use his/her experience and knowledge of current industry standards, specifications, recommended practices and quality best working practice to achieve above expectations. Responsibilities Concept / / Design verification/ ITT / Contract Award In relation to equipment and service definitions, working with the relevant engineer(s), the job holder is co-responsible to ensure that the specifications being quoted within the ITT and contract award phase are current, and reflect any lessons from previous company and industry events or knowledge enhancements. Working with the relevant engineer and contracts advisor, the job holder shall ensure that the Scope of Work expresses the functionality requirements for the environment intended. The job holder shall collate and document evidence that the equipment being offered meets the specifications quoted in the ITT process, and where gaps are identified, the job holder through discussion with the relevant engineer shall define the risks associated and work to define appropriate mitigation as necessary. The job holder shall liaise with the engineer and the supplier to meet the defined requirements. The job holder shall work with the engineer and C&P team to ensure the final contract documentation reflects the product and service quality requirements determined during the ITT process. The job holder shall attend physically, where possible, all contract kick off meetings. Long lead Items As part of the risk management process the job holder shall manage a long lead item assessment schedule which shall be agreed by the Ghana Well Engineering manager. The actual audit process shall be managed through a 3rd party inspection services provider primarily and attended by dedicated engineering resources where warranted. Resource determination shall be agreed between the job holder and Ghana Well Engineering Manager. Management of the 3rd party Inspection contractor will be assigned to this role and will include the scheduling of services, rationalisation of the level of services where required, management of the contract and service receipting process. As QAQC authority in the TGL-WE department and after any LLI has been accepted for design and suitability of application, the job holder shall agree with the supplier a Quality Control Plan from which he/she will determine the surveillance points (where applicable based on risks) and capture this plan in a formalised document either as a result of the contract kick-off meeting or elsewhere if appropriate. Performance against this plan shall be monitored and reported as part of the contractor/supplier QPR process. Qualifications & Experience Fluent in both written and spoken English, IRCA approved auditor, Lead auditor experience of at, Knowledge and experience in API Q1, API Q2 and ISO quality standards, Strong product knowledge of Drilling and Completion equipment assembly and servicing protocols High proficiency with IT and industry software including (i.e. MS Suite, etc), Engineering degree or equivalent HNC with proven experience in the quality management field, Interpersonal skills necessary to establish good working relationships with team, Good communication skills keeping direct supervisors informed, Must be able to work independently and proactively without direct supervision, Self-starter and motivated to shap APPLY
