(1126) QC Inspector

I. Responsibilities Reviews Shutdown Worklist Scope, individual equipment S/D folder file with past history & drawings of equipment assigned to be inspected during the S/D. Carries out internal/external inspection of assigned stationary equipment during the shutdown and witness hydrotest and/or any other required test. This covers pressure vessels (columns & drums), Shell & Tube heat exchangers, air coolers, cooling towers, fired heaters, boilers, Reactor /Regenerators, storage tanks, piping, civil structures, PSV’s, etc. Coordinates inspections with contractors and review scope/procedure of any repair job. Record/Document any as found inspection findings describing any forms of corrosion & other deteriorations mechanism; discuss & get his supervisor approval for any unplanned repair. Record any repair job and issue the final inspection report to be encoded in the ACCESS Inspection Record System. Schedule and follow-up thickness gauging of equipment as per worklist; evaluate results & estimate remaining life using EPCL’s thickness management software called PCMS (Plant Condition Management System). Evaluates PCMS results & check/confirm if repair or replacement is required based on thickness gauging results (Use of DMS & DMS2 Krautkramer datalogger are strictly recommended in thickness gauging for fast results). Schedules & follows-up other NDE requirements (RT, MPI, DPT, IRIS, ToFD, etc.) as per scope of work & issue recommendations based on results. Issues Work Request(s), once approved by his supervisor, for repairs/replacements required as per Inspection Codes & applicable Standard Procedures, detailing materials to be used, welding procedures, coating requirements, NDE’s, inspection & testing requirements, etc. Ensures all inspections are done in accordance with the Scope & Test Plan , signs Wall Charts provided by S/D Contractor indicating inspection work completed in his shift. Makes a list of Anticipated Repairs & Recommendations for the next T&I in 2020. Carries out & records final inspection and signs Box-up Certificates II. Requirements Inspectors should be preferable Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineers with minimum 8 years inspection experience in oil refineries (or similar). Should be energetic, with healthy BMI (Body Mass Index) able to access restrictive confined spaces, and not afraid of heights. Able to communicate in English (written & spoken). Capable of working twelve hours per shifts (either day or night). Knowledge & sound skills in corrosion & failure mechanism and mitigation. Working Schedule: Pre & Post Shutdown : 5 days a week – 8 hours a day During the Shutdown: 7 days a week – 12 hours a day (OT applicable above 10 hours per day at 1.25%) (either day or night shifts)
