(1331) S/H - Mechanical Equipment

Technical Support: Review the work carried out by Mechanical Equipment Engineers in the section for accuracy, technical quality and fitness for purpose utilising own experience and COMPANY Procedures/Guidelines. Direct the evaluation of adequacy of engineering equipment and ensure state of the art technology is applied in the selection of Process Systems, Equipment, Packages, etc. Ensure appropriate application of engineering/design software and other tools to optimize equipment design and configuration of facilities. Provide inputs for revamping and modification of existing plant facilities related to Mechanical Engineering, as and when required. Review Inspection and Test Plans, Test Procedures and participate in Acceptance Test of Critical Equipment at Vendor’s Works/Sites. Contractor / Vendor Management: Support as and when required in review of Contractor/Vendor pre-qualification, bidder list evaluation reports by Contractors/PMCs, etc. Review Technical Bid Evaluations and technical acceptance criteria for management approval. Participate in the evaluation of Un-priced Technical Bids for Major & Minor projects for management approval and review evaluation reports by PMC for Major Projects. Review Award Recommendations by Contractors. Organisational Development and Change Management: Facilitate and contribute to the Emiratization programme by training and mentoring of UAE nationals in specialized jobs in line with clients mandate. Direct the development of knowledge competences and innovative spirit in the Mechanical Equipment Section to promote adequate personnel skill levels and to continuously develop staff. Trouble Shooting: Identify and resolve issues and conflicts with the project team and troubleshoot problem areas that require a high degree of technical judgement. Arrange assistance in troubleshooting of chronic plant roblems and recommend solutions and follow up on implementation. HSE: Ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures across Mechanical Engineering Department in order to promote a healthy and safe work environment. Feed Back, Reporting & Communication: Together with the Project Coordinator and Piping & Materials Section Head, manage the preparation of periodical progress reports for Mechanical Engineering Department. Desired Candidate Profile Minimum Job Requirements: BSc in Mechanical Engineering. 10 years’ experience in refining and oil & gas related fields of which 5 years should have been in a supervisory position. A broad technical and managerial knowledge base, coupled with multi-disciplinary depth of skills in Mechanical Engineering. A high degree of original thinking, judgment, critical analysis, and problem solving ability. Capacity to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high pressure environment. Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively articulate ideas to team members and Contractors from a broad spectrum of disciplines. Excellent Communication and Management skill Excellent leadership and Team building skills. Sufficient level of competency in use of Computers.
