Purpose: Performs skilled work in the maintenance and repair of marine Machinery, and related equipment. Key Responsible Areas • Performs major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on marine equipment and systems using schematic charts and technical manuals. • Establishes and maintains a preventive maintenance program for related marine equipment. • Tests marine equipment to determine need for repairs or adjustments. • Repairs and maintains equipment. • Operates hand and power tools associated with marine equipment and repair. • Assists in fabrication of equipment. • Writes specifications for and recommends purchase of marine equipment. • Purchases parts and supplies. • Keeps service records and reports of all marine land equipment.
