(1720) Procurement Specialist
As a Procurement Specialist you will: Supervise and/or manage a supplier surveillance program with a number of direct hire Project Inspection Coordinators and Shop Inspectors. Provide technical direction, and interface with other department and project managers in accordance with the company standard. Develop inspection plans, budgets, and client interface and provide supervision and guidance to the GS Contractors procurement team Review with Project Management levels of inspection required for the materials and equipment to be bought on the project. Oversee GS contractors sourcing plans for domestic and international suppliers Prepare budget and manpower accordingly to cover inspection requirements. Review with Engineering the level of Inspection required for specific materials and equipment. Maintain and update quality standards and procedures to ensure compliance with company directive. Maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure effective Quality Control. Qualifications: A bachelors degree in Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited university with a minimum 12 years of relevant experience in the oil/gas industry. Experience on large-scale oil/gas and petrochemical capital projects preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of procurement practices and principles applied by major oil/gas companies. Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment. Demonstrated interpersonal/ teambuilding skills. Strong written and oral communication skills.
