Job Description Based within the Perth office, this role will provide contracts engineering support to Corporate & Project on various scopes as assigned with some supervision and support from the Contract Coordinator. The Contracts Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects relevant to the prequalification, preparation, issue, receipt, opening and assessment of tenders and award & execution and management and close out of contracts. Key Responsibilities include: Achieve cost savings through the contracting process; Provide contract/procurement advice to the relevant non Contracts and Procurement Client personnel; Conduct prequalification, preparation, issue, receipt, opening and assessment and negotiation of tenders in accordance with approved Client Procedures; Finalise award and participate in management of Contracts. Ensure Contract Variations and Contract Claims are identified early and managed in accordance with Client procedures; Ensure contracts are monitored and regular liaison with Package Engineers to identify potential future variations. No retrospective RFV approval sought due to / caused by omission of C&P Personnel; Liaise with project team members to ensure commitments and milestones (for works and documents) are achieved and liaise with Contractor to expedite progress mindful of foreseen overruns/claims/ liquidated damages; Monitoring of vendor performance and Maintain positive vendor relationships; Optimal utilisation of Clients Contract Management System Procon; Preparation of documents for presentation to Contracts Committee and various JV approval committees in a timely manner; Contracts Committee PQP/PP/RFA/RFV rejection rate < 5%; Ensure confidentiality of contract documents is maintained; Keep C&P Management informed of any potential significant issues relating to contracts; Continually assess C&P procedures and processes and assist in implementing improvements as required to support the business. Job Requirements Our client is looking for a Contracts Engineer that holds the following requirements: Engineering/Quantity Surveying qualification, Business Administration, Law or equivalent professional qualification; SAP skills (MM module) - Desirable; Understanding of local content requirements in the contracting process; Ability to multi-task; Minimum of 5 years Contracts and Procurement experience, preferably in oil and gas industry; Experience in contract formulation activities, systems and processes coupled with a working knowledge of engineering and or services/consultancy practices. The successful Contracts Engineer must have current / valid working rights for Australia, unless we have advised the position is expat approved.
