Amec Foster Wheeler are currently looking for a Lead Pipelines Engineer to be assigned to our office in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia to work on the various projects coming up over the next 1-2 years. The work will include FEEDs and potentially detailed engineering for the early well production (tie-in) projects, with the possibility of some assistance to the client in managing their EPC contractors as well as support the Reading team with the ongoing Concept Studies that will continue to be performed in the Reading office. The individual will need to recruit and build their own pipelines team locally in the FWAPEC office and coordinate with the Reading office for any specialist support not readily available in Al-Khobar. The assignment will initially be for 12 months duration but is expected to continue longer. The right candidate will be highly motivated, able to work independently and have demonstrable leadership qualities. Sound technical knowledge coupled with leadership and decision making skills are required to ensure the delivery of challenging project and client targets. You will be confident in your own ability to deliver the Pipeline scope on a project on time and within budget, while facilitating effective work share with other execution centres around the world. Overview a team appointed to execute FEED and any further detailed design, as required Interface with the Amec Foster Wheeler Process / Flow Assurance Team in Reading Coordinate with and provide assistance to the task force team Engineering Manager in Al-Khobar Carry out study and design work using Amec Foster Wheeler and Client design methods, standards and data, to a high quality and in accordance with Project requirements Ensure that Amec Foster Wheeler and Client’s Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are complied Provide assistance to other disciplines and participate in review meetings, in accordance with Project requirements Develop, review, and take responsibility for the accuracy of detailed calculations and deliverables to which assigned Ensure that work is checked (including self-check) and appropriately approved, and is completed within schedule and budget Be vigilant for, and advise respective Engineering Manager, of any deficiencies and possible improvements to the established Amec Foster Wheeler design methods, standards and data and of possible fields for technical investigations, developments and computer programs Support internal development and continuous improvement activities as required Undertake technical training as authorised by Discipline Manager to further career development and/ or Amec Foster Wheeler capability Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Engineering Relevant experience in upstream oil and gas of projects 5+ years of onshore upstream pipelines experience preferably in the Middle East Experience with Saudi Aramco Projects is preferable Experience with another international design firm required (previous experience with Amec Foster Wheeler advantageous) Preferred experience in an onshore pipeline environment within the Upstream and Midstream Industry, including Middle East experience Able to work in FEED environment as well as in detailed design Able to assist in the development of onshore pipeline equipment installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance analysis and procedures Familiar with the relevant International standards (previous experience with Saudi Aramco is advantageous) and Codes of Practice and competent in the design, specification and selection of pipeline systems to meet the requirements Experience in the use of onshore pipeline design software
