JOB OVERVIEW Reporting directly to the Field Engineering/Quality Manager, the Field Engineer/Quality is accountable to support Field Engineering and Construction in executing the construction work in compliance with approved Engineering drawings and specifications. The primary function is to support the construction management team to troubleshoot design issues affecting construction progress and to support construction quality and Turnover. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Promote and demonstrate safety awareness by participating in safety programs and meetings. Support the Construction Management Team to troubleshoot design issues affecting construction progress. Collaborate with Home Office Engineering, vendors or other engineering resources to coordinate design changes or information requests with field operations and daily surveillance of the work. Respond to contractor Request For Information (RFI) documents and initiate the creation and approval of management of change documents such as Field Change Notices. Review and approve Quality documents such as Contractor Quality Plans, ITP’s (Inspection and Test Plans) and third party SQS (site quality surveillance) reports. Responsible for the identification, creation and closeout of NCR’s (Non Conformance Reports) to ensure quality of work is as per applicable industry standards and procedures. . Providing inspection, review and acceptance of completed work. This may include review and approval of test packages, witnessing of site testing, and completing final walk-downs to verify and approve redline changes on IFC drawings (issued for construction). REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering from a recognized university Registered as a professional engineer in APEGA Minimum of 5-10 years project plant experience With experience and knowledge of the following: Construction and installation of plant pressure piping systems. Installation of machinery pumps Construction and Inspection of pressure vessels. Air, water, heating and ventilation system Underground utilities (Sewer and Water systems etc.) Skills and Knowledge: ASME Codes such as ASME B31.1 (Power Piping), ASME B31.3 (Process Piping) and ASME B31.4 Pipeline Transportation systems for Liquids and Slurries CSA Codes such as CSA Z662 Oil and Gas Pipeline American Petroleum Institute recommendations and practices such as API 686 Rotating equipment Alberta Building Codes schedules A, B, C. Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) WORKING CONDITIONS OPP-WBR , The schedule is 10 days on and 4 days off, 10 hours per day. This job requires frequent site visits thus a valid Alberta class 5 driver’s license is necessary.
