Responsibilities The role of the Lead Instrument and Control Engineer is a key leadership role, being responsible for the day to day supervision of the Instrument and Control Systems (ICS) team assigned to a project. Part of this role would be inter-office work-share coordination. The Lead Instrumentation and Control Engineer is primarily engaged in the project execution of I&C engineering requirements on a project, tender or proposal, as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work. He/ She reports functionally to the Head of Discipline and operationally to one or more Project / Engineering Managers. Job Skills: Key requirements for an Instrumentation and Control Lead Engineer on a project: Ensure work is carried out competently and effectively within time and budget constraints and that project objectives are satisfied. Overall supervision I&CS engineers, designers and technical personnel in the execution of the project and take ownership of the work executed by the team. Ensure integrity of work scope and that work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Maintain and facilitate an awareness of HS&E across the discipline within assigned project. Promote the understanding and application of risk management techniques within the discipline, e.g. IEC61508/11. Provide support in the Instrumentation area for procurement activities. Ensure discipline personnel consistently work within the Quality Management System. Be able to produce proposals for projects which involves man hour- and schedule estimates. Learning of proprietary software tools; Engineering Database (EDB) and Project Information tool (JPI) will be required. Pro-actively identify issues that impede project progress and report to Project Management. Communicate, facilitate and develop a productive and cohesive team. Recognize and address potential and actual cross-discipline issues and conflicts so that overall engineering input to a project is coherent. Training and Experience A recognized Instrumentation and/or Automation and Control higher qualification. Have already been responsible for a team of 10 or larger. 15+years of instrumentation and control engineering experience. 10+years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry. People management Knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation Multi-office project experience. Strong communication skills / team player. Other Requirements: excellent command of Dutch and English, verbal & in writing. Amount of Travel: flexible for travelling.
