ROO Operations Mechanical Engineer (Static Equipment and Pipelines) - Middle East The Field Mechanical Engineer will be a key member of the Operations Engineering Team, accountable for providing support to Ops Engineering, in particular within the MoC function across the ROO facilities. The role will report directly to the Mechanical Engineering and IM Manager . Primary Responsibilities. The successful candidate will have a duty to his / herself and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. Promote ‘best in class’ safety behaviours and by example assist the Operations Dept to embed a culture of safety awareness and hazard recognition in the day to day operations. Promote and developing an environmental awareness culture. Mentor where possible graduate engineers and develop their skills and capabilities to levels where these engineers can competently fulfil this role as part of their development to professional engineer status. An awareness and understanding of other cultures is a requirement. Experience Required Lead and provide Mechanical Engineering input to the Operations Management of Change process including review of proposals, specification of mechanical equipment in particular piping designs , valves and any speciality piping equipment items. Development and issue of defined SOR’s / SOW,’s to the on-site engineering support contractor. Review and checking of the on-site contractors design and construction plans for compliance with the issued SOR’s / SOW’s. Review and acceptance of final mechanical system handover documentation on behalf of Operations. Review of engineering drawings to issue for construction status . Assist and contribute in the development of Static equipment maintenance procedures, provide expert mechanical engineering and troubleshooting guidance when required. Assist and contribute to the development and implementation of Mechanical / Integrity Engineering Plans.. Provide input to and feedback on implementation of Site Engineering Standards and procedures. Qualifications, Skills, Experience BSc/HND or equivalent i.e. 15+ years experience in similar roles .You will have strong engineering and maintenance experience in an upstream Oil and Gas production business and be adept at working in a multi-disciplined, multi-cultural team. Self-starting and self-managing skills are a key attributes for the role. You will have a track record of demonstrating success at delivering mechanical engineering solutions in an Oil and Gas production facility against asset improvement plans . Will have experience of working in SIMOPS conditions and successfully supporting engineering contractors executing mechanical works onsite . In addition you will have the ability to analyse mechanical problems, and contribute to engineering risk assessments.
