The company’s Marine Department is seeking a highly competent Captains (12) with Class I Unlimited Master Certificate of Competency, from a recognized Marine Academy or Nautical College, to serve in command of Marine vessels (Jack-up Barges/Floaters) performing a variety of deck and navigational duties necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the company’s owned fleet, as a skilled and certified Master. The work schedule will be 42/21 work/vacation relief with company paid travel and vacation. This is a permanent job, with area of operation in Saudi Arabia. The rotation is non-negotiable but this is paid ON and OFF rotation with overtime pay while ON Board. Duties include, but not limited to: Assume command of the assigned vessel and is in charge of officers and crew. Assure that the vessel is maintained in such a manner that any and all assignments can be carried out safely and efficiently. Operate the vessel at sea in accordance with international rule of the road; navigate by the use of charts, beacons, buoys, radar or echo sounder and generally conversant with all navigational aids carried on the assigned vessel. Keep accurate daily records and log books. Direct and inspect preventive maintenance on both hull and machinery to ensure that assigned vessel maintains 100% availability to user organization, keeping the Unit Head notified well in advance of any repairs requiring shore assistance. Conduct regular firefighting, lifesaving and emergency procedure exercises to evaluate and maintain crew proficiency. Conduct regular pollution control drills to assure the vessel is operationally prepared to react immediately to an oil spill alert at all times. Investigate and document, immediately after occurrence, any operational accident, personal injury, alleged or otherwise. Obtain witnesses statements and summon assistance promptly if vessel is in immediate danger through grounding, fire or sinking. Ensure that the vessel is properly equipped, stored and provisioned in keeping with the vessels assignment; assure that company’s policy regarding quantity and quality of food is carried out and prevent the waste of food and other consumable stores. Inspect frequently the vessels hull, machinery spaces, firefighting and safety equipment, storerooms, crews quarters, galley, and mess areas to ensure that the vessel is up to the company’s standards. Hold full responsibility for the discipline, health, training and general well-being of all members of the crew.
