ob Description - Turbine Mechanical Design Engineer (2 persons) Posted position title-Power generation products / gas turbine Function- Engineering / Technology / Product design and development Location-FL, USA Role summary/purpose- The Lead Mechanical Engineer will lead assigned analytical, design, and test objectives for turbine blade, vane and disk: life cycle requirements capture, design to cost, schedule commitment and ME designs, analyses, and tests that meet product performance for use in product development Essential responsibilities- · Apply advance engineering concepts and technical requirements such as thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid-mechanics, vibration, shock, and physical properties data into functional product definition designs, analyses, and tests for turbine rotors and stators · Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection · Derive electronic data models and use engineering analysis tools as needed using FEM analysis tools (ANSYS, ABAQUS etc.) · Determine dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing capabilities Qualifications/ requirements- Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited college or university Minimum of 10 years of industrial experience Desired characteristics- · Masters Degree in an Engineering or science discipline from an accredited college or university Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems · Strong interpersonal and leadership skills · NX (aka Unigraphics) or CATIA CAD experience · Experience in development of partial shrouded blade, vane segment and root attachment · Experience in reliability and risk analysis, and exposure to data mining · Exposure to experimental methods in stress, vibration and experimental data processing · Demonstrated ability in working in a cross-cultural team involving members from all across the globe
