(319) Compressor and Steam Turbine Engineer
Act as the company’s specialist in the company dealing with other Saudi Aramco departments, Saudi Arabian government agencies, other companies and universities involved in compressors and steam turbine issues. Provide capital and operations program leadership by providing a recommendation for the selection and testing of compressors and steam turbines. Perform detailed analysis to resolve complex technical problems, increase revenue, improve reliability, optimize processes, protect the environment or improve safety. Act as a principal investigator in multidisciplinary investigations of major incidents. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) as certified facilitator to resolve specific equipment failures. Develop and maintain Saudi Aramco’s engineering standards and design best practices to enhance company profitability, safety and productivity. Evaluate and introduce best practice and emerging technologies from all over the world to help the company achieve best-in-class positions in the oil business. Evaluate major long-term trends in the area of compressors and steam turbines and serve as a major conduit of technology transfer within the company. Develop ideas for major technical studies or projects to be carried out by less senior engineers. Contribute to taskforce investigations to investigate major incidents or solve specific problems. Provide engineering leadership and counsel other team members. Act as a professional mentor for developing engineers and transferring implicit knowledge to other specialists and engineers. Carry out economic studies and cost analyses of particular importance in the field. Conduct field inspections and make recommendations for changes to facilities or operations. Promote a learning environment and implement self-development to maintain and improve expert status in highly specialized technical and general engineering fields. Develop young Saudi engineers. Deliver technical presentations and write papers for peer-reviewed journals on engineering studies and projects overseen by the candidate. Actively participate in the work of technical societies, and participate on specialized committees within appropriate groups. Desired Candidate Profile The successful candidate must have the following experience, competencies and skillsets: A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a higher qualification from an accredited university. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration will be desirable but is not essential. Detailed knowledge of international codes and API standards is required to support the review of company standards, project reviews, and implementation of plant modifications to compressors and steam turbines. Experience in solving large process gas compressors mechanical failures is required. Experience in a Reliability Unit, handling rotating equipment for an industrial plant is desirable.
