Job Description Our client is a world leader in simulation and engineering services with active projects and clients across the globe. The UK is the base for their Engineering Consultancy business. Their current portfolio includes operations within numerous industries on high profile projects including Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Manufacturing, infrastructure, power distribution, nuclear and defence. They are looking for a Control & Instrument engineering professional at Principal level to be part of a dedicated winning team who can meet challenges head on to serve our customers’ needs as part of our Control & Instrument engineering business. The position will be based in the North East. The role of principal Control & Instrumentation engineer position will be a lead role in the delivery of such projects with responsibilities as follows; Develop new and maintain existing client relationships in regard to Consultant Engineering services Provide support in the preparation of proposals and man hour estimates Carry out technical investigations and produce technical reports Develop design specifications for Control systems and field instrumentation When required, attend of HAZOP, SIL and P&ID review meetings Provide added value to the delivery of Consultant Engineering services Assist the Head of Department to improve engineering methods and standards Liaise with other departments and clients where necessary Support and assist in the development and training of personnel Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience: Degree qualified preferred or significant equivalent experience in Instrumentation & Control Engineering. Minimum of 10 years industry related experience in the delivery of Instrumentation & Control based projects. A proven track record of technical involvement on EPC type capital and/or revenue Appreciation and understanding of relevant UK, European & international standards, codes of practice and procedures. Working knowledge of high integrity SIL rated systems (a relevant qualification will be an advantage). Chartered Status and membership of a relevant engineering institute would be highly desirable. Computer literate in MS Office desktop applications, company management systems and project management software. Industry experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Nuclear. Flexibility to travel to client sites within the UK and beyond with proven experience of site investigation and data gathering. Full UK Driving Licence.
