Job Description Start Date: Asap Duration: Contract Description: The cataloguer will be expected to train selected staff in cataloguing skills, with the aim that the selected trainee’s will be capable of taking over the cataloguing function at the end of the contract period. These trainees will be working alongside and assisting the expat cataloguers on a continual basis. Key responsibilities: Data cleansing and enrichment, Walk down and inspection of warehouse items (spare parts), developing buying specification and additional characteristics to standards by taking measurements/inspections, identifying the discrepancies between the actual item characteristics/measurements physically in stock, existing reference documents, and the catalogue information available in MUSIS. Capturing the relevant information from manufacturer’s catalogues, DCC data, SPIR forms and other reference documents. Ensuring that the finished materials catalogue description in MUSIS can be used by Purchasing Department to replenish the item without additional information. Review existing MUSIS catalogue data and ensure relevant information is suitably enhanced, properly checked for errors and duplications, in order to maintain the highest possible standards in the Material Master (Catalogue). Ensuring that the two year spares are thoroughly reviewed against existing materials to avoid duplicate catalogue descriptions for the same item. Assist in calculating the required inventory level parameters (ROL/ROQ) based on forecasted usage and supply lead time. Assist requisition originators, end users, Buyers and the Materials team in identifying the correct materials both for stores issue and purchasing, and resolve queries related to cataloguing. Job Specification Requirements: Engineering Degree 10 + years’ experience in Spare parts planning, and Material Cataloguing with particular reference to the O&G industry. English (French and Arabic language skills are advantageous)
