(401) Mechanical Reliability Engineer

JOB PURPOSE: • The main purpose of the position is to provide specialist technical support in the aspect of plant and equipment Reliability. • This is achieved by adopting the concept of various methodologies, tools and techniques related to Reliability Engineering which covers the aspects of safety, environment, equipment performance, resources utilization and costing with due consideration of equipment life cycle costing. • The work-frame to this duty is the Company’s Maintenance Management System and its associated maintenance systems such as the Plant Equipment Condition monitoring system, the Equipment Maintenance Management System etc. PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: For existing plant and equipment: • In line with the site production objectives, provides technical support to site operations in the aspect of mechanical equipment availability so as to achieve set targets and key performance indicators. • Develops various Business Processes related to Reliability Management of the company assets. • Develops / measures and monitors Key Performance Indicators related to Equipment Reliability and Maintenance Practices. • Facilitates workshops on Defect Elimination and RCA [Root Cause Analysis] for failures of mechanical equipment. • Conducts / Facilitates workshops on promotion / application of Reliability methodologies in maintenance practices. • Facilitates reviews of maintenance regimes of mechanical equipment using reliability processes e.g. Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), FMEA / FMECA [Failure Modes and Effect/Criticality Analysis], Fault Tree Analysis, etc. • Studies MAXIMO Database for equipment history, performs applicable Life Data Analysis and Recommends amendment in PM [Proactive Maintenance] Job Plans. • Reviews health monitoring data and advises on the serviceability of the mechanical equipment. • Ascertains input to MOC’s (Management of Change) on mechanical equipment where equipment availability and reliability is affected. • Alerts Site and Maintenance Mechanical Discipline Engineers on obsolescence of equipment. • Participate in reviews for CMMS/MAXIMO effective utilization and input towards enhancement. • Act as mentor to new UAE National Engineers during their CAMS or PDP (Personal Development training Program) periods. For project work and new equipment: • Provide maintenance input to projects at the FEED stages. • Participate in RAM / ROM studies (Reliability, Availability/Operability and Maintainability) for new mechanical equipment. • Participate in LCC (Life Cycle Costing) exercises for new mechanical equipment. • Reviews package details for new projects and provides recommendations on equipment selection • Provides equipment maintenance specifications, strategies and assist with design specifications for equipment on new projects. • Provides recommendations on commissioning of new equipment and the normal operational spare parts. • Participates in building up Asset Database in MAXIMO for new projects. • Reviews SPIR [Spare Parts Interchangeability Records] for Mechanical equipment in new projects and carries out related liaison with CMM and Project group. • Develops / Reviews Proactive Maintenance [PM] Strategy/Tasks for mechanical equipment in new projects and assists in building up Maintenance regime in MAXIMO. • Reporting to RD Team Leader WORK CONTACTS: • The position holder has regular contacts with site Mechanical Supervisors and Engineers, Site Production Supervisors, Discipline Mechanical Support Engineers, Facility Integrity Engineers, Facility Process Engineers, Project Engineers, HSE Engineers. • Has frequent contact with CM (Commercial), LG (Logistics), Vendors and Contractors INDEPENDENCE OF OPERATIONS: • Exercises initiative in accordance with established procedures and governed by professional standards. The work output and quality is supervised and reviewed by Team Leader TERMS AND CONDITIONS: • Employment Type: Direct Hire • Duration: Long term and permanent • Resident Status Desired Candidate Profile MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Degree / Diploma / Certification in Reliability Engineering. • 10-12 years’ experience in oil and gas industry of which 5 years spent at the front line of maintenance of equipment. • Proficient use and knowledge of international codes and standards in mechanical engineering. • English language proficiency written and spoken.
