Our Client is a leading Consulting and Engineering company. They cover telematics, systems integration, infrastructure, energy and water supply as well as traffic management. THE CHALLENGE: We currently have a vacancy for a Resident Engineer Commissioning in a large-scale Water Infrastructure / Water Utility Project in the Western Region of the Abu Dhabi Emirates. As the Owner’s Engineer we provide a team of about 30 engineers to supervise the construction works awarded to an EPC contractor and amounting to more than 500 Mio $. THE ROLE: • Prepare guidelines for processing and commissioning of the constructed facilities; and how to split the facilities into system/subsystems • Guide the Contractor on development of detailed commissioning schedule prior to completion of construction activities. • Ensure that Contractor’s pre-commissioning/commissioning records and documentation are well prepared and organized and also presented in line with Contract. • Guide and lead Contractor’s commissioning team to perform work in accordance with Contract requirements. • Guide/cooperate with the Planning Engineer for the review of the project time schedule. • Advise the Principal Resident Engineer on the works which are required to be completed, but are not in the Contract front end Engineering Design (feed) documents or could be outside the scope of Contract design basis -if any. • Ensure that the completion of work activities is certified in the Quality Control records and the attachments are complete and the appropriate Quality Control. Records as specified in the Project Quality Plan are used (in Consultation with the QAJQC Engineer). • Supervise the works on site in such away that the works are performed in proper sequence with the required quality as per Contract Document. • Review, monitor and report on the progress of work and to review / comment on the Contractors proposed effective remedial measures to recover any slippages on the progress. Desired Candidate Profile • BSc or BE in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from recognized University. • Minimum Fifteen (15) Years experience in the relevant field. Past experience shall include successfully completing a previous position as Resident Engineer (Commissioning) for a Project of similar size. • Experienced in testing and commissioning of o Steel/concrete water storage tanks o Transmission pipelines o Pumping Stations o Well Fields • Fully conversant with pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures / milestones / certificates i.e. Mechanical Completion Certificate (MCC), Ready For Commissioning (RFC) Certificate, Ready For Start UP (RFSI) Certificate and Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) • Excellent knowledge of O&M of water transmission systems incl. automation, SCADA systems, real time modelling and control.
