(434) Installation Draftsman

PURPOSE & SCOPE: Jobs at this level are part of a multi-disciplinary team engaged in the preparation of engineering drawings. Job holders are closely supervised in carrying out their basic level drafting activities. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prepares barge arrangement, sea-fastening detailed drawings, under close supervision, for review by senior colleagues and subsequent issue for construction. • Prepares lifting drawings for decks, jacket, bridges, etc. • Undertakes back-Drafting of drawings to reflect corrections that need to be made to initial documentation. Revises drawings incorporating subsequent modifications. • Assists in the production of “as built” drawings of barges and other vessels following receipt of marked up drawings from the Plant Section. • Prepare rigging arrangement drawings for launching of jackets • Prepare barge mooring arrangement drawings, during load out of structures. • Prepare barge General Arrangement drawing, safety systems drawings, one-line diagram for piping, exhaust, vents. Desired Candidate Profile MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Higher National Certificate, or equivalent*, and an ITI Certificate in Drafting (NCVT). • 3 year’s previous drafting experience with at least 1 year in the oil and gas sector.. • Good knowledge of written and spoken English. • Experienced and competent Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator. * Note that equivalent not only covers equivalent education or vocation certification, but also covers experience, e.g., 5-10 years relevant experience can be regarded as “equivalent”.
