We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC / Qatar for a: ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN Your main duties will be: • Minimum qualification is a diploma in engineering from a recognized institution with 5 year experience or a trade certificate with 10 year experience in an oil and gas or major utilities environment. Power utility experience is highly recommended • Experience required in numerical relay protection, transformer maintenance, MV and HV cable jointing and repair, vacuum breaker maintenance, MV motor maintenance and operation and maintenance of MV motor variable speed drives. • Broad plant maintenance experience on switchboards up to 6.6kV, motors and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), rectifiers, variable speed drives and general plant electrical utilities are required. • Experience that includes PLCs, HVAC, instrumentation and the use of computer based man-machine interfaces is preferred. • Switching and operating experience on plant at 415V, 6.6kV, 33kV and 220kV is highly desirable. Computer literacy essential, as is familiarity with MS Office 2000 packages Ideally you should be a diploma graduate with minimum 7 years of maintenance experience in oil & gas industry. Location: Qatar Contract duration: 1 year renewable Rotation:11 month ON/1 month OFF
