Our client, a Global leader in Industrial Automation Solutions, is looking to hire a Business Development Specialist (Inventory Monitoring Solutions) to be based in Sandton, Gauteng for the Sub Sahara Africa region. Purpose of the role: To develop and grow our IMS portfolio in South Africa and African region, and to achieve at least a sustainable 20-25% growth per annum. To position the IMS portfolio and be in a market position of at least number 2, in the next 2-3 years, with the aim to become market leader in the next 5-7 years. Job Specification In depth knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry, up-stream and down-stream applications and solutions, industry requirements and specifications and regulatory framework governing this industry. Knowledge of integration practices and methods, how to integrate different IMS packages, into a comprehensive IMS offering as well as to integrate instrumentation on an assortment of digital or analog bus systems, either hardwired or via radio. A sound technical knowledge of instrumentation and networking methodologies and the ability to solve problems as well as strong project management skills are required for this position. Achievement of annual business development and/or sales budget. Achievement of Year on year agreed business development growth targets. Setting and executing business development plans for individual countries and markets Requirements: Education & Experience A diploma or Trade test in Instrumentation and Automation or external Sales qualification will be advantageous 5-8 years in Instrumentation & Sales with at least 5 years in a Business Development role Association with an accredited institution like SAIMC, SAIIE or similar (advantageous but not a pre requisite) Driver%u2019s License Specialist skills required (highly advantageous): A track record of successful implementation of a BD strategy, for a similar BD project BD experience preferably gained in Africa (advantageous but not pre requisite) Excellent consultative skills and must be able to deploy various commercial offers in very short time. (Time pressures) Experience in consultative selling, installing and commissioning of projects or advising customers in respect of Tank Gauging systems, Load Management systems, Terminal Management solutions, Loading skids, Fleet and Inventory controls and practical consideration and limitation in this solutions application environment
